COS101: INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTING SCIENCE

Welcome to COS 101: Introduction to Computing Science. COS 101 is a one-semester, three-credit unit course that you are expected to take in the first semester of year one (1) of your studies. The course is part of the prerequisites for your obtaining a BSc/B.Ed./Pharm D. The course will introduce you to the computer as a tool for computing (solving computational problem), fields of computing and its wide applications, and how computing continue to change the world. Throughout this course, we assume you have little, or no knowledge of what computing is all about and how computing can effectively be part of you – in both your academic and future carer journey. It is our aim and desire that you will find the course an interesting and enjoyable one and at the end you will become part of the world progressive drivers with computing being part of you.
